Explore Oceania
Although the smallest continent, Oceania is composed of thousands of islands throughout the central and south Pacific Ocean. Oceania is dominated by Australia but is also home to Melanesia, Micronesia, Polynesia, Hawaii, and the microcontinent of Zealandia. Zealandia includes both islands in New Zealand and the eastern half of New Guinea (Papua New Guinea). Adventurous tourists flock for pristine beaches, breathtaking landscapes, and unique culture. The best way to travel Australia is by van. Road Tripping up both coasts allows you to make spontaneous stops along the journey and fully experience this beautiful country. The Great Barrier Reef is located on Australia’s north-eastern coast. You must make a pit stop at this natural wonder while traveling up the coast of Australia. Due to its secluded location, traveling to Oceania is a huge undertaking. If you plan on making the trek, I recommend spending two weeks at minimum.
Oceania is located in the Southern Hemisphere, which means summer months fall between November and March. The shoulder spring months are the best time to visit (meaning September and October). You will expereince a perfect balance of moderate temperatures. This is largely dependent on the purpose of the trip. Adventure skiers flock to New Zealand in the reverse winter months- June, July, August. Due to it’s mountainous terraign and high altitude, this is a major ski destination in the Southern Hemisphere. From April to August temperatures start to cool off, especially in Polyenesia and sub-regions. The best time to visit Oceania is September and November.
